Freedom is to choose how I want to react to whatever happens around me and to me.

It starts with little things like this:

The alarm jingles and you don’t want to get up. Even though your mind tells you, you have to get up to school or work you are free to choose what you want to do. Of course, you have to bear the consequences – but you are free to choose.

More serious would be this example:

A drunken person decides to get into a car and drive home. It happens that I was hit and end up severely handicapped. Now I tell you it’s my liberty to choose how to live my life in a wheelchair.

As long as you live you have to make choices and no whether limited options you have you are free to choose.
